Rudaw receives Webby Award
We are pleased to announce that Rudaw Media Network’s documentary has won the Webby Award, triumphing over several international competitors. At a grand ceremony held in New York City, our colleague Roj Eli Zalla accepted the award on behalf of Rudaw.
Last night in the United States, global agencies and companies such as NASA, Google, Netflix, along with Rudaw, received their Webby after being victorious in their respective categories.
The Webby Awards is one of the most popular international awards. Rudaw is the first media institution in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq to receive this accolade. It is also the second media institution in the Middle East to receive this honor in the 28-year history of the Webby Awards.
Claire Graves, the president of the Webby Awards, stated that 13,000 actors, films, and documentaries from 70 countries vied for the Webby Award in its different categories, and Rudaw won one of the awards.
This triumph became possible with the efforts and creativity of the production staff behind “The Korowai” documentary, as well as the votes and support from Rudaw’s audience. So, we share this victory with Rudaw’s readers, viewers, and listeners. Their continuous support drives Rudaw to continue on its path towards success.
The Webby Awards are a benchmark to determine the best on the internet and the leaders in the fields of storytelling and digital media. Winning this international award is another global proof of Rudaw's ability, the high quality of its products, and the unique ability of Rudaw's production teams to produce interesting stories and showcase different cultures, once again proving Rudaw's role in the global media arena.
Rudaw Media Network, now positioned at a stage to compete with global media outlets, is poised to continue with greater vigor and steadfast commitment to the trend of progress and production.
