Unfinished stories: the last chance for peace

In this episode of Unfinished Stories, Hevidar Ahmed travels to Turkey to speak with officials from the main pro-Kurdish party and the country’s ruling party to understand details of the recent initiative to bring about a peace process between the state and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

Ahmed was given rare access to the house where the jailed PKK leader was born and lived before establishing the armed group decades ago.

Ocalan’s brother, Mehmet Ocalan, who has sat down with the PKK leader in jail several times, spoke to Rudaw and talked about their last meeting.
