ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — The pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party, the Kurdistan Workers Party, and the Turkish president have condemned the killings of Palestinians in recent conflict with Israeli troops after the US moved its embassy to Jerusalem.

“We strongly condemn the Gaza massacre and we offer our sincere condolences to the families of the martyrs and the Palestinian people, read a PKK statement on Tuesday, reported by ANF, media affiliated with the party.

It also called for a solution “through dialogue and negotiation, because insisting on the use of force does nothing but aggravating the problems.”

On the Gaza border, Israeli forces shot and killed 57 Palestinians and injured more than 2,700 during protests on Monday, The Associated Press reported. It was the deadliest day of border fighting since 2014.

PKK has occasionally been accused by Turkish media and officials of receiving military support from Israel. PKK has denied the claim. It is considered a terror organization by the Turkish state.

The outlawed party reiterated that they shed blood during 1982 Lebanon War.

“During the occupation of Lebanon in 1982, 13 distinguished members of the PKK fighters who were fighting shoulder to shoulder with the Palestinians fell martyred in this war,” added the statement.

On June 6, 1982 Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) invaded Lebanon to fight the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) who was accused by Israel of attempting to assassinate Shlomo Argov, then the Israeli ambassador to the United Kingdom.

Temel Sezai, a co-chair of HDP, challenged other political parties to end economic, military and political agreements “if you want to show solidarity to the people of Palestine.”

“Let’s end all these agreements together,” he tweeted on Tuesday.

HDP also claimed in a tweet on Tuesday that they have demanded an end to economic, military and political agreements with Israel but the ruling party AKP and its Kemalist ally, MHP, had rejected it.

The jailed candidate of HDP for the June 24 Turkish presidential election also declared that he is against the “massacres committed to the oppressed people of Palestine.”

“I condemn the unlimited barbarity of government of Israel … There has to be a strong voice and mutual position to immediately end the atrocity of Israeli government,” Selahattin Demirtas tweeted on Monday.

He will face incumbent Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the ruling AKP and four other challengers.

Erdogan tweeted on Tuesday:

“Netanyahu is the PM of an apartheid state that has occupied a defenseless people's lands for 60+ yrs in violation of UN resolutions.

“He has the blood of Palestinians on his hands and can't cover up crimes by attacking Turkey.

“Want a lesson in humanity? Read the 10 commandments.”
