HAKKARI, Turkey - The Hakkari mountain range is a popular summer spot for Kurds in southeast Turkey.
At 3200 meters above sea level, it is visited by tour groups in every season.
"We are now at Seiydkhan pond. I came with seven of my friends. It’s great in all seasons; winter, spring or summer. As you see it’s very wonderful," said tourist Mazlum Takce.
The mountain is not only a tourist site, but also a source of water for several parts of southeast Turkey.
Hundreds of nomadic families stay in the area to raise their livestock in summer.
The 10,000-year-old ice caves have also become a local historical attraction.
