Three killed, 45 wounded in bombing in Diyarbakir
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region—Three people have been killed and 45 wounded in a bomb attack on a police shuttle in the Baglar neighbourhood in the centre of Diyarbakir in southeastern Turkey on Tuesday afternoon.
The loud explosion was heard across the city.
The Diyarbakir Governor’s Office has stated that 12 police officers are among the wounded.
A similar attack in Diyarbakir in March killed seven police officers and injured 27.
The southeast region of Turkey has seen a sharp increase in violence since the resumption of the conflict between the Turkish state and the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) last July.
