The residents of Gaziantep’s Islahiye are joining forces with the rescue teams to save their families and loved ones from beneath the rubbles and ruins caused by the massive earthquake that ripped through Turkey and Syria on Monday morning.
It is still unknown how many people have lost their lives in Islahiye, but many of the big buildings surrounding the main roads of the residential areas have collapsed.
A destructive 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the city of Kahramanmaras in southern Turkey on Monday morning with its impact ripping through neighboring Syria as well. Over 8,500 people have been pronounced dead in Turkey, and at least 2,662 people were killed in Syria as of Wednesday afternoon.
