PYD elect new co-chairs at party congress
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – The ruling party in Rojava, Kurdish northern Syria, have elected two new co-chairs at a party congress.
The Democratic Union Party (PYD) elected Shahoz Hesen and Ayshe Hiso, replacing Saleh Moslem and Asya Abdullah. The party is led by co-chairs, always one man and one woman.
The election was held at the party’s 7th Ordinary Congress in Rimelan, Hasakah Province. The two-day congress concluded on Thursday.
