The historic bazaars of al-Buzuriyah and al-Hamidiyah in Damascus are bustling with people as life continues after the collapse of the regime of Bashar al-Assad.
The bazaars offer a wide range of Syrian made products. Al-Buzuriyah is well known for its herbs and spices while al-Hamidiyah is the biggest market in the capital.
Rebels led by the Islamist Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) late last month launched a blistering offensive against the Syrian army, seizing the northern cities of Aleppo, Hama, and Homs and culminating their victory by capturing the capital Damascus as Assad fled the country, ending over five decades of Baathist rule.
