Deadly clashes ongoing between Syrian troops and Kurdish forces in Hasaka
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – At least four fighters were killed in fierce clashes Wednesday between Syrian army soldiers and Kurdish forces in Hasaka, a security source told Rudaw.
The clashes ignited when Syrian troops approached the Asayesh forces in Hasaka in northeastern Syria, the source said. The asayesh forces are part of the People’s Protection Units (YPG), which controls Syria’s Kurdish regions (Rojava).
The source said the dead included at least two security agency workers and two Syrian army soldiers.
Several schools, universities and markets closed due to the clashes.
