ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — At least one civilian was killed in Turkish bombardment in northeast Syria (Rojava) on Tuesday evening, according to a local media outlet and a conflict monitor.
The Turkish army bombarded Zarkan district in Hasaka province.
One child was killed and five other civilians were injured in the bombardment, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Hawar News Agency (ANHA), a media outlet affiliated with the Rojava administration, reported that a four-year-old child and a woman were killed and more than 10 people were injured.
The casualties were brought to Dirbesiye hospital, ANHA reported.
In October 2019, Turkey launched an offensive against Kurdish forces in northeast Syria. Ceasefires were brokered by Moscow and Washington, but the truces are frequently violated. Earlier this month, a father and his three children were killed in a Turkish bombing near Ain Issa.
