Kurdish presidency condemns Hasaka blast, offers to receive wounded
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region-The Kurdistan Region Presidency (KRP) condemned Tuesday’s suicide attack in Hasaka, Rojava, northern Syria and offered to provide medical care for the wounded.
“On Tuesday evening, through a cowardly suicide attack in the city of Hasaka, 16 people were killed and tens wounded,” said the KRP in a released statement shortly after the attack.
“We are strongly condemning this inhuman terrorist attack and send condolences to the families of the martyrs, wishing the injured a speedy recovery,” reads the statement.
“We inform our brothers and sisters in Rojava and the city of Hasaka that our medical offices and concerned parties are ready to receive the injured and assist the victims of this terrorist attack,” the statement continued.
The death toll in the blast, which took place in front of a bakery in Salihiya district, has risen to 18 people and many more were wounded.
The Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for the attack through social media.
