Afrin: We will never weaken. We grow stronger.
As Turkey's assault on Afrin enters its third week, local Syrians have become emboldened despite outrage over the mutiliation of the corpse a female Kurdish fighter.
"We will never weaken, even if they kill a girl, or a young person, or martyrs. Every day we grow stronger. Our blood boils for our homeland," 65-year-old Hussein Sheikho told AFP.
"For our honour and our boys and girls and our beautiful Kurdistan, we will never weaken," added Sheikho.
As Turkey and its FSA proxy fighters continue to target outlying areas, the UN reported 16,000 people had been displaced as of January 30.

Afrin is the westernmost of Kurdish three cantons that comprise Rojava, also called Syrian or Western Kurdistan.
