Who is saying what at the Geneva talks?

The Syrian envoy at the Geneva talks says that whoever thinks of autonomy in Syria needs to take Panadol pills.

Speaking to Rudaw Bashar Jaafari said Syria has zero tolerance for federalism or autonomy.

Syria’s sovereignty must be respected by everyone, he said.

Syrian and opposition delegations met in Geneva to talk about ending the war and seeking a transitional period.

The opposition is backed by Saudi Arabia. Damascus is backed by Russia.

The Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) was not invited to the talks.

PYD leader Salih Muslim said because they were not invited they wouldn’t honor any agreement or decision reached in Geneva.

The PYD is Syria’s most effective fighting force against ISIS.

The UN says this is Syria’s best chance for peace.

UN Secretary General said Syrian politicians must think about their people first.

Opposition leaders say Russian air strikes must stop and prisoners released for talks to continue.
