At least 15 killed in multiple bombings in Baghdad
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – At least 15 people were killed in five bombings in Baghdad on Sunday.
Eight were killed and another 30 wounded by a car parked in a shopping street in the capital’s Shiite Hurriya neighborhood, according to police and medical officials, news agency reports said.
Improvised explosives killed three and wounded 10 at a busy market in the northern neighborhood of Shaab, according to the reports, citing unidentified police and hospital sources.
Two explosions at markets in Topchi and Zataria areas reportedly killed four and wounded 16.
A fourth bombing on a microbus in Sadr City district wounded six but caused no deaths.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks, which come as Iraqi and Kurdish forces have been engaged for two weeks in a major military offensive to retake the city of Mosul from the extremist group ISIS.
