Mosul resistance group 'kills 23 Saudi fighters'

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region- Members of the anti-ISIS Free Officers Movement in Mosul have claimed to have killed 23 Saudi Arabian citizens who have executed civilians in the extremist-held city.

Mohamed Baaj, a member of the underground militia movement said "secret cells of the Free Officers Movement attacked positions where ISIS fighters were based, killing 23 militants.”

Baaj said the ISIS fighters were of Saudi citizenship and had arrived "recently" to join the Islamic State. He added that the Free Officer’s Movement has been continuously targeting ISIS extremists inside Mosul in retaliation for the killing of civilians.

Since April, the group has claimed the killing of several ISIS leaders. In November, the Free Officers Movement took responsibility for the assassination of Abu Shahab al Suri, the ISIS  leader in-charge of the western part of Mosul city.
