Mourners gathered in Baghdad on Wednesday for the funeral of another journalist killed in violence gripping the protest movement across southern Iraq.
Yussef Sattar ,a journalist and activist was killed during protests in Baghdad on Tuesday.
Members of the press are not exempt from the brutal force that has used by security forces since October 1, who have fired live ammunition and tear gas at demonstrators.
More than 511 protesters and members of security forces have been killed and around 17,000 wounded since demonstrations began on October 1, according to Human Rights Watch.
Several journalists have lost their lives covering the protests, including Dijlah reporter Ahmed Abdul Samad and his cameraman Safaa al-Ghali, who were assassinated in Basra on January 10.
A recent report by Iraq's National Association of Journalists described the "unprecedented repression" of journalists covering the protests, including assault and detention, harassment and threats.
