ISIS bomb kills infant IDP in Kirkuk
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – An ISIS bomb killed an internally displaced Iraqi infant on Saturday in the Daquq district south of Kirkuk, a police official said.
“A girl named Shayma Faruq Abdullah, an IDP, was killed as a result of a planted bomb,” said Brig. Sarhad Qadir, chief of Kirkuk’s Suburban police.
He added that the victim was an infant and the incident happened near Simudi in Daquq, a multi-ethnic district under the Kirkuk Governorate with a majority-Kurdish population. The bomb was planted by ISIS, he said.
The United Nations reported nearly 59,000 people have been displaced, 26,000 of them children, in the first 30 days of operations to retake Mosul, which began Oct. 17.
