Six foreign ISIS leaders killed in coalition airstrike on Mosul
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Six “prominent” ISIS leaders have been killed in a coalition airstrike in Mosul, Iraq’s Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday.
The six leaders were all foreigner fighters, including from European nations, according to information released by the ministry.
They have been identified as: Abdulkarim al-Rusi, known as Abu Samir, a Russian citizen and military commander in the Tariq bin Zyad battalion; Saleh Ahmed, known as Abu Mihaf, a French national of Syrian descent; Abu Dihaa al-Maghribi, Moroccan; Yousif Awni, known as Abu Jamal, Turkish; Abdullah Hamud, known as Abu Saleh, Moroccan; and Milaz Siru, known as Abu Afsa, a British citizen of Moroccan descent.
Information of when the airstrike was conducted was not revealed.
In other developments, Iraqi forces liberated the village of Alhuydra, north of Badush, the war media cell announced on Sunday afternoon.
