Kurd fighting in Iraqi army killed by ISIS sniper fire in Mosul

MOSUL, Iraq – A Kurdish soldier serving in the Iraqi army was killed on Sunday by an ISIS sniper in the liberated neighborhood of al-Zuhur in Mosul.

 

Rizgar Ismael Fatah, 27, who spoke to Rudaw just one day before he was killed, expressed concern about civilians caught in clashes between his fellow soldiers and the enemy.

 

Fatah had taken part in battles against ISIS on multiple fronts in Tikrit, Ramadi and Mosul.

 

He joined the army's Golden Force in 2008.

 

He was born in the town of Kalakche in Duhok province and is survived by two children.
