Iraqi gov’t: Fallujah IED plant destroyed

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — A missile attack has killed 10 Islamic State militants, including three foreign engineers, in Fallujah, Iraqi authorities said Tuesday.

The Iraqi Defense Ministry in a statement announced that Iraqi security forces launched a missile attack and targeted an ISIS improvised explosive device (IED) factory in the al-Senaee area of Fallujah.

The statement didn’t give further information about the three foreign engineers who it claimed helped ISIS produce IEDs. The owner of the facility, named as Sabah Hamid al-Jumaili, was also reportedly killed in the attack.

In January 2014 ISIS militants swept into Fallujah and parts of Ramadi in Iraq's Anbar province, which Iraqi security forces abandoned. Since then Iraqi security forces backed by US-led coalition airstrikes have been fighting the extremist group to retake ISIS footholds in Anbar province
