Twin explosions shake Baghdad, kill 4

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Two bomb attacks in Baghdad killed at least four people and wounded nine more on Tuesday, just days after an Islamic State suicide car bombing in the Karrada district killed at least 167, wounding another 180.

The number of casualties is expected to increase, according to security forces at the scene of the attacks.

The first bomb killed at least one person and wounded four others in Baghdad’s busy neighborhood of Gariaat, Baghdad police announced.

Three people were killed and five wounded in an attack in Razwaniah neighborhood that occurred shortly after the first explosion.

No group has immediately claimed responsibility for the new waves of attacks a day before Iraqis celebrate Eid al-Fitr, the end of Islam’s holy month of Ramadan.
