More ISIS villages fall to Iraqi army east of Mosul, new waves of refugees
Iraqi army has recaptured the three villages of Mahala, Hasriyah, and Karma, southeast of Mosul.
The villages have been under ISIS for more than two years.
The Iraqi army has recaptured some 10 villages near Makhmour front so far.
Thousands of local residents have fled the villages to the Kurdistan Region.
According to the Iraqi army, 29 ISIS militants were killed in the offensive.
The army is now closer to Gayara, a strategic point to Mosul.
