ISIS executes Kurdish residents in Mosul
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region- At least three Kurdish residents in Mosul were reportedly executed at the hands of the Islamic State (ISIS), a Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) official told Rudaw on Thursday.
“On Thursday, ISIS executed three Kurdish people on the charge of spying and releasing information in Mosul,” said Saeed Mamuzini, media officer of the KDP Mosul branch.
Mamuzini said the victims were Ali Rasheed Sleman and his wife Fatiha Haider, as well as Ali Mahmoud.
Just one week ago ISIS militants raided the victims’ houses, and on Thursday they were accused of spying and executed, said Mamuzini, adding that the charges were unfounded.
Mosul fell to ISIS on June 10. The defeat was a humiliation for the Iraqi Army, with many troops known to have abandoned their weapons and uniforms as they fled the ISIS onslaught.
On September 2014, ISIS reportedly executed a number of its Kurdish members on charges of spying for the Peshmerga.
