Tension brews between Peshmerga and Iraqi forces at village outside Mosul

The defense line of Kurdish and Iraqi forces meet at Somaqiyah village east of Mosul and Kurdish military men on the front already feel tensions in the air with their Iraqi counterparts, especially the Hashd al-Shaabi.

For the Kurds much of the land they have retaken from ISIS in the last two years were part of the so-called disputed territories that were supposed to be settled through the Iraqi constitutional article 140.

Now, claims a commander, they have problems trying to bring or establish any law and order in these areas and villages due to the presence of Iraqi army and Hashd fighters.
