ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Authorities at Iran’s Rajaie Shahar prison have refused to feed detainees anything but bread and water for days, ever since the inmates condemned new rules to laws on political prisoners.

A source inside the prison told Rudaw on condition of anonymity prisoners were incensed at new rules that included boxed meals, instead of cooked ones.

“Officials from the prison have decided to give boxed foods instead of regular meals,” the source said.

According to the information, prisoners have complained about the boxed foods and claimed “they have been impossible to eat.”

Officials are punishing the prisoners by giving them “empty plates and bread,” he added.

A new law was implemented in Iran to set rules to deal with political prisoners. for the first time in the country.

Parts of the law deal with attacks on foreign embassies, and that the supreme leader or president will be accountable for any such incident.
