ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - 14-day Christmas festivities have brought together the Christians of Ankawa district in Erbil province.
"20,000 Christians have obtained tickets. 8000 to 10,000 people participate in this festival every day and the number increases by a thousand each day," Andi Sulawa, who organized the event, told Rudaw.
The event starts at 8 pm and runs until midnight.
The Christians express their joy and gratitude for the gathering, wishing for peace and coexistence.
Dunya Buya, a Christian from Ankawa, expressed her joy while participating in the event.
"I hope the year 2025 brings joy and happiness to everyone, God willing, especially to the people of Ankawa, Kurdistan, and the entire world," she said.
The New Year's event has become a chance for many in the Kurdistan Region, including non-Christians, to enjoy themselves.
