Brusk Aras, a university student, has built a smart robot to help the Peshmerga forces detect bombs and booby-traps.

You can run it through a cellphone or a laptop,he says, it is a remote controlled robot.

“It can find any kind of bomb and notify the operator by an SMS,” Aras said. “Even if it is seized by the enemy, the operator can deactivate it.”

“Let’s say the alarm is on 20 seconds, after this 20 seconds a small explosive planted in the robot will explode and the technology will not be in enemy hands,” he added.

As it searches for and finds bombs the robot will send images to the operator. It can also estimate the distance between itself and the bomb.

Brusk has been working on this robot for four years. He’s happy to be graduating with such an important invention.

He’s now waiting for the Peshmerga to test his robot and put it to use.
