A statement from Rudaw Media Network:

In light of the 5th anniversary of the Rudaw Media Network’s first broadcast, we are congratulating all of our employees. Their work and innovation have made media from Kurdistan known, modern, and influential on regional and global levels.

On the evening of May 29, 2013, with the broadcast of the radio, and digital platforms of Rudaw, we announced the creation of a multimedia network — Rudaw Media Network — to build on the professional work of Rudaw Company that was established in 2008.

Rudaw Media Network has offered a platform for a wide-range of local debate by providing the best information to its audience, viewers, listeners, and readers through conveying the questions of the people of Kurdistan to decision-making bodies across the world.

The establishment of Rudaw Media Network was a development that brought about a professionalization of Kurdish media in Kurdistan and positively impacted the local community across all fields.

After five years, Rudaw is the widest and the most influential media agency in the region with a prominent global position.

On the anniversary of Rudaw, we are also remembering our martyred colleague Shifa Gardi and missing reporter Farhad Hamo. Their souls boost our spirits and are an inspiration for all Rudaw employees.
