Airstrikes hammer ISIS on Makhmour front
MAKHMOUR, Mosul province - Early on Saturday airstrikes by the US-led coalition targeted ISIS positions across the central portion of the Makhmour front, a military source has told Rudaw.
“The US-led coalition warplanes launched the attacks at 1:15 this morning. There were two bombings of ISIS fighters at Kermerdy and Kodileh villages to the west of Makhmour which lead to the two villages being entirely destroyed," Iraqi Army Captain Sherzad Zebari told Rudaw.
Zebari added that the airstrikes sparked a massive fire that set off other explosives that were in the hands of the militants.
He said there was no confirmation about the number of ISIS fighters killed but that there were "certainly human losses."
