Hawler are Kurdistan Region football champions
ERBIL, Kurdistan region – Hawler beat Hawler Peshmerga 2-1 in the final game of the Kurdistan Premier League (KPL), taking home the championship cup.
The match began at Franso Hariri Stadium at 6:30pm on Saturday.
Farhan Shoker Hawler scored the first goal for Hawler in the 52nd minute and was named best attacker in the league as well.
Thirty minutes later, Ali Andullah scored a goal for Hawler Peshmerga and equalized the game.
In the last minutes of the match, Nadim Karim scored another goal for Hawler bringing his team the victory and the championship cup for the third consecutive year.
