Duhok refugee camps switch to solar energy

Authorities at Mamrash refugee camp have started installing solar panels for better electricity supply to the camp. The panels will generate 370 kV and the project is funded by a German organization at the cost of €700,000. Around 95% of the work has been completed and it will be activated in the fall. There’re 18 camps in Dohuk that accommodate 400,000 refugees from Iraq and Syria.
