The Kurdistan Region Presidency on Thursday held a ceremony in Erbil for diplomats and representatives of countries and the global coalition against the Islamic State (ISIS) on the occasion of the New Year. 

The presidency said in a statement that the event was held on the occasion of the Christmas and New Year holidays, adding that President Nechirvan Barzani and the special representative of the UN general secretary Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert
 attended the event as well. 

A group performed Kurdish traditional dance during the event. 

The Chief of Staff of the presidency Fawzi Hariri congratulated the attendants on the occasion of Christmas and the New Year during the event, thanking the representatives of countries for providing support to the Kurdistan Region.
