Peshmerga rejects Amnesty report of burning Arab homes as baseless

In its most recent report Amnesty International claims that the Kurdish Peshmerga burn and destroy Arab homes and prevent them from returning to their villages.

Chief of Staff of the Peshmerga Ministry Jabar Yawar responded to the Amnesty report on Wednesday on Rudaw TV.

Jabar Yawar: These reports are single-sourced. They’ve given one side the chance to talk and not the other. Amnesty never reached out to us or ask us anything for this report.

If they had visited we’d have given them solid evidence to show their accusation has no basis.

These accusations are made by people linked to ISIS. They accuse us because they lost their territory in the fight against ISIS.

The whole world knows we are dealing with a terrorist group that aims destroy wherever they go.

The main reason behind the destruction of these areas is ISIS landmines. They booby-trapped homes, roads, they even animals and dead bodies.

Air strikes have destroyed 3,000 ISIS bases in civilian areas.

Amnesty did not waiting for a response or evidence from us.

There is no evidence showing Peshmerga forces destroying these areas.

Kurdistan Region has welcomed more than 1.8 million refugees of Arab brothers.

This is good evidence that these accuses have no base.

There is even no mention of the people complaining in this report.

These destructions are an outcome of war and have no political purpose.
