ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - British-Kurdish ties encompass a broad range of topics, from security, to trade and education, and the United Kingdom is keen to develop them further.
“It’s very important we work closely together across a whole area of important subjects: security partnership, a trade partnership, inward investment into the KRI, and vice versa, there is a large Kurdish diaspora in the United Kingdom. We have longstanding and deep relations and we want to build and develop those,” said David Hunt, UK consul general in Erbil.
Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani this week spent three days in London, meeting with Prime Minister Boris Johnson and key members of his cabinet.
