YPG mothers cook for their sons in the battlefield

There is an old saying that goes wars are fought with beans, band aids and bullets.

Today, on the battlefields of Syria’s Rojava Kurdish territory, a group of Kurdish mothers have the beans covered while their children dish the bullets out to ISIS.

Some of the mothers have lost children in the ISIS fight, but have still gathered to cook for the Kurdish fighters of the People’s Protection Units (YPG) combating the jihadists.

The mothers told Rudaw they have no time for mourning, and instead try to feel better by contributing to the war effort and helping their children continue the fight. Their story is told in the above video.
