Three Kurdish presidential guards abducted by Shiite militiamen were freed on Sunday. They were abducted near Amirli in Diyala on Friday. "They got us in a pickup vehicle and took us to their camp. They were Hashd al-shabi and the Badr organization. They tortured us. We were blindfolded. They were about to kill us," one of the freed guards told Rudaw. President Fuad Masum formed a team from his guards to follow up on their fate. .Eight other Kurds from Erbil, Sulaimani and Kirkuk were also freed. Three Kurdish police officers were abducted in the same area on Saturday and their fate is still unknown. Four Kurdish guards of the Iraqi president were abducted nine months ago whose whereabouts is still unknown.
