Militants nab $13m in Baghdad bank heist

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Unidentified gunmen stormed a private bank in central Baghdad on Saturday making off with $13 million in American dollars and 100 million more in Iraqi dinar, worth another $84,000.
 
A Baghdad police official said the robbers, who wore uniforms and branded automatic weapons, looted the bank in the downtown Rashid district and then “disappeared” into the Iraqi capital.
 
“Security forces have surrounded the place area the robbery took place and officials have begun investigating the incident,” the police source said.
