Several killed in car bomb attacks in Mosul, Salahadin

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - At least seven civilians were killed in  two separate car bombs in Iraq's Mosul and Salahaddin provinces on Wednesday, local officials said.

A vehicle packed with explosives blew up on a bus in front of a restaurant in the town of Hajaj  near Tikrit killing 6 and wounding 11 others, Jamal I'kab, head of Saladin province's media office said.

"The restaurant lies on the Baghdad-Mosul road and travelers usually stop there to rest." L'kab said.

He blamed ISIS for the attack.

A security official said the death toll may rise as the bombing was massive.

A second bomb targeted a civil defense vehicle in Sahli village in Shargat, Mosul, killing one civilian and wounding two others.

Iraqi and coalition forces admit that ISIS militants and sleeper cells still exist in parts of Iraq and they pose the threat of guerrila attacks.
