ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Kurdish Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani kicked off a project to attract volunteers for public work by rolling up his sleeves and taking part in repairs to a school building.

The project is called “we are all volunteers,” Talabani told Rudaw Tuesday that through it “we can express our love to our country."

"In the history of Kurdistan we have proved we love our country as we see volunteers shoulder-to-shoulder fighting alongside the Peshmerga on the battlefields," Talabani said.

Together with a group of volunteers, he took part in repairs at the Rawshan School in Erbil’s old and lower-class Setaqan neighborhood.
