Peshmerga take Sakhra village from ISIS

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Peshmerga forces have captured the village of Sakhra in southeast Kirkuk province, a security official has told Rudaw.
 
“Now, Sakhra village is under the control of the Peshmerga and ISIS left 10 bodies behind,” said Brigadier Sarhad Qadir, director of police in Kirkuk governorate.
 
In other fighting, an ISIS land mine killed two Peshmergas in the village of Dur Karaba and four other Kurdish fighters were wounded, said a Rudaw reporter on the Kirkuk frontlines.

Qadir added: “An ISIS suicide bomber tried to target the Peshmerga, but before detonating his payload he was gunned down.”
