The residents of Turkey’s Kurdish city of Adiyaman (Samsur) continue to join forces to attempt to uncover survivors of Monday’s deadly earthquake in the city which inflicted destruction through Turkey and Syria.

A destructive 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck southern Turkey and had its center in the city of Kahramanmaras on Monday morning, with its impact ripping through neighboring Syria as well. At least 12,873 people have been confirmed dead in Turkey while around 63,000 have been injured by the quake’s effects.

The current tally of fatalities in Adiyaman remains unknown, but many of the city’s buildings have been reduced to rubble with rescue teams working hard to save every last survivor from the rubble.
