Syrian refugees prepare for Eid al-Adha in Duhok camp
Tens of thousands of people who fled Syria’s civil war in the last decade and resided in the Duhok province’s Domiz camp are preparing for the Islamic Eid al-Adha.
The Kurdistan Region has announced Saturday as the first day of Eid al-Adha.
Over 30,000 refugees, mostly from Kurdish areas in northeast Syria (Rojava), live in Domiz camp, according to official figures. Despite financial hardship, they continue celebrating the Eid. Many can be seen in these photographs, taken on July 7, 2022, preparing for the Islamic holiday.
