Mam Gardy is the father of a martyred Peshmerga.
In his Eid prayer, he prays to God to take the martyrs to paradise.
Mam Gardy was also a Peshmerga and his other sons are Peshmerga as well.
“I hope God takes our martyred Peshmerga to paradise and protects the Peshmerga, and brings our wounded Peshmerga back to the safety of their families,” Mam Gardy, father of a martyred Peshmerga told Rudaw. “I was also a Peshmerga and am retired now. If I was healthy, I would also go to defend my nation alongside my sons.”
Neshwan, a volunteer Peshmerga, was martyred in the war against ISIS.
His mother called her other sons, currently on the frontlines, to wish them a happy Eid.
She says that they are proud of their family.
“I congratulate Eid to all of them. God bless them. I thank God a lot,” said Fatima Lazgyn, mother of a martyred Peshmerga. “God gave my son to me and he also took him.”
The eyes of the wife of a martyred Peshmerga are full of tears.
Her husband Neshwan was with them last Eid, but he was killed and has left her and their two children.
“He would go to the frontline whenever there was a fight. When there was a fight, he said he wanted to go. He went and my kids have not seen him since then,” Zhyan Zikri, wife of a martyred Peshmerga said.
Neshwan Gardy was born in 1982 and was killed in May 2016 in Tel Skuf.
His family live now in the Kurdistan Region’s province of Dukok.
