Official: ISIS destroys Christian convent north of Mosul

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Fighters with the so-called Islamic State, or ISIS, have blown up a Christian convent located 18km north of the occupied city of Mosul, the Mosul governor rold Rudaw on Thursday. 

Governor Nawfal al- Akub said the facility in the town of Tal Kef, which was in operation for an undisclosed number of nuns, was destroyed after being occupied by the jidadists since June 2014. 

There was as yet no information on casualties or the location and status of the nuns.
