Erbil welcomed 2019 with fireworks, festivities
Thousands of people lined the streets of Erbil, capital of the Kurdistan Region Monday night to welcome 2019 with fireworks and street music.
Restaurants and cafes bustled with customers as parties went on in bars and clubs throughout the night with fireworks illuminating the city sky.
Compared to previous years the city of Erbil did not sanction any official New Year party this year.
