Iraq’s Consul General in Los Angeles Salwan Sinjari spoke to Rudaw’s Roj Elli Zala on January 21, about how he manages consular affairs of a vast community of Iraqi and Kurdish diaspora in 14 American states, which number around 200 to 250 thousand people. Sinjari is originally from Iraq’s Shingal town in Nineveh province, where the Islamic State committed horrific crimes in the area when it control swathes of the country in 2014.
