Bane from Kurd Idol releases video with Navid Zardi

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — Bane Sherwan who made her debut on Kurd Idol, has released her first duet video clip with Navid Zardi, a prominent Kurdish pop singer.

Bane, 17, and Zardi's video clip is titled Biro, or Go in English. She is from Sulaimani.

Zardi told Rudaw the text and lyrics of the song are his own.

He is from Mahhabad in Iranian Kurdistan and has released three albums and 28 songs.

Bane was one of the contestants on the show Kurd Idol, competing with dozens of other young people from all four parts of Kurdistan. The show has aired on the Sulaimani-based Kurdsat TV.

Of the hundreds of people who applied to the soon-to-become popular show, only 142 people were selected, and then 17 were selected to do live performances and compete for the title of Kurd Idol.
