Nali, renowned Kurdish poet, honored as Sulaimani celebrates its own birthday
Sulaimani, the second city of the Kurdistan Region, celebrated its 232nd birthday as a city on Monday. The American University of Sulaimani hosted a seminar on the renowned Kurdish poet Nali (1797 -1856), who was one of the prominent poets of the Kurdish classical period and is regarded as a symbol of Sulaimani and Kurdish culture
