Coffee has never been a popular drink in Kurdistan, but that doesn't mean it can't be increasingly found.
In a cafe covered with traditional rugs and furnishings, people in Erbil enjoy a cup of the freshly brewed drink.
Although tea is still the dominant drink in the chaixanas (tea houses), coffee is a growing trend like at this cafe on 40 Meter Road near Langa Bazaar.
Nearby Turkey has long favored the drink, as well as the Iraqi city of Mosul.
