Kurdish music band Scurdia goes on Europe tour

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Kurdish music group Scurdia are on a European tour with concerts and live music in various cities, as a way to introduce Kurdish music to the world and lobby for the Kurds.
 
"We are going to hold three big concerts this month, two will be held in Austria and one in Switzerland," Rizgar Khoshnaw, in charge of the group, told Rudaw. "All the concerts begin at 8pm."


 
The band comprises of 11 musicians from eight different countries.
 
"The foundation of the group is built on Kurdish music and Kurdish songs," Khoshnaw said, adding that he is the composer of all the songs.

 


 
Members of the group are from Kurdistan, Austria, Italy, Brazil, Moldova, Netherlands, Kosovo and America.
 
He believes music is the best tool to present Kurdish traditions to the world.

 


 
"In my opinion music is the best way to present Kurds to the world and to lobby for the Kurds as we need it now more than ever, especially for holding the referendum in a successful way," he said.
